Where there is no Rules-based Nation what hope is there for a Rules-based World?
Elon Musk’s assault on US government prompts muted Republican disquiet
It's kinda cute (but not funny) for Trump to accuse Zelensky of being a dictator but when you take a moment to think about it, it fits his worldview so snuggly; in his sick mind if you win elections you no longer abide by rules. What mostly bothers me most of all is when western leaders brag about unique values (not even universal values). Now we see that slowly these values are systematically being chipped away and replaced by eastern influence of autocratic governance models, so rather than projecting values many in the west have chosen to import/reverse their own values. “Why?” you may ask if you’re still around. Well, simply because a) freedom of corruption that was allowed to infect core elements of our democratic governance model championed in the main by unelected/powerful lobbyist (internal & external) and b) when we see double standards applied politically and legally both on a national and international level no values however firm can be immune from such effects; it might take longer but the flip will eventually happen.
So the suggestion from this end is this; lets get busy quickly in fixing the real problems in our governance model and not the symptoms. More importantly lets select leaders keen to fix the system entirely and with a solid track record/reputation in terms of unquestionable allegiance.
Well, that's an opinion.
